Multiple celebrations at Pentecost Service

Pentecost 2013 was celebrated in style at Johnsonville Uniting. Freshly back from a study trip to New York, Parish Minister Anna Gilkison presided over an infant baptism and induction of a parish councillor.

The baptism was of Olivia, daughter of Anna and Dave Wetherill. Anna is the daughter of James and Alisi Barton. James Barton was inducted as parish councillor. As part of his responsibilities he Chairs the Communications Committee of the Parish.

Church member Rose Pullan's 90th birthday was acknowledged with the cutting of a cake while Hugh Williams sang a solo of the song "I walked into the garden", in honour of the memory of his mother who would have been 100 years old on the day of the service.

The Sunday School children chimed in with two action songs and as part of Music Month the service concluded with the playing of a mid-1940s recording of a Mozart piece by a 16 year old singer from Hutt Valley High.
