Farewell to Ila and Enid

JUC said goodbye to two stalwarts of the congregation at a morning tea to mark the move out of the area by Ila Rye and Enid Chisolm.

Both Ila and Enid have been members at JUC for many years.  Enid is a Johnsonville identity.  She and her late husband, Theo, owned the dairy in Philip Street for many years.  Enid was also a long standing member of the Citizens Advice Bureau.   Recently Enid sold her flat in the same street to move out to Heretaunga.

Similarly, Ila has moved from her flat in Trafalgar Street up to the Kapiti Coast.  Ila was an enthusiastic member of the 'Young and the Rest of Us' family group and for many years was the primary "key holder" for the Terrace Centre.

The parish wishes both of them well in their new residences.  We will miss their sunny dispositions and remember the many contributions they have made to the church over many, many years.
