Jonhsonville Uniting's Nativity float

In a first for the parish, we had a float in the Johnsonville Christmas parade this year.

The project was initiated and coordinated by Michael David, convenor of the communications committee. With the help of many hands, a nativity float was built. Children crewed the float dressed in their nativity roles, including a 5-week old in Mary's arms. How's that for authenticity!

The float was towed near the front of the parade with blue t-shirted church members escorting and handing out flyers wishing all a peaceful christmas and inviting them to participate in JUC Christmas events.

The float looked great. Taking part in the parade was a low key way to reach out to the community with very high visibility. Congatulations to Michael and all those who supported this successful project, especially the blue team who stood up to be counted on the day.
